Hall Green Stadium is encouraging local antique fanatics to visit its grounds on March 6th as it opens its gates to traders and the public for its first ‘Walk the greyhound’ antiques and collectors fair.

The fair, which will take place on the first Tuesday of every month throughout the year, will see 300 stalls spanning both the stadium and its sister venue, Hall Green Banqueting Centre. Hundreds of jewellery, ceramics, glassware and antique furniture specialists will be showcasing and selling their items at the fair, which is free for both the public and traders to visit. The event kicks off at the York Road Stadium at 7am when traders can begin their bargaining, before opening its doors to the public from 10am - 2pm.

Andrew Billingham, director of Walk the Greyhound events, said: “We’re really looking forward to launching our antiques and collectables fair here in Birmingham. It will be one of the biggest events of its kind in the Midlands and we’re hoping for a good turnout from antique lovers across the city. Traders are coming from all over the country to showcase at the fair so it’s a great opportunity to stumble across something exciting and unusual.”

Dave Towner, venue manager at Hall Green Banqueting Centre, believes the Stadium and Banqueting Centre are ideal venues for such a large-scale event: “We are expecting over 300 stalls to showcase at the fair and many more visitors so we are fortunate to have such ample car parking, with 700 spaces on site. The Stadium is located just 15 minutes away from the M42 motorway and Birmingham City Centre, making the event easily accessible for those outside of the Hall Green area.”
