Searle, who died aged 90 at the very end of last year, is one of Britain’s best loved illustrators. Hailed as one of the world’s greatest satirical artists, his output was very wide-ranging. Although he is probably best known for his comic St. Trinian’s and Molesworth characters, much his work took a much darker tone.
The show will be held alongside the annual Watercolours + Works on Paper Fair, at London’s Science Museum, Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 5th February. The exhibition consists of a small display of original Searle drawings all owned by the Cartoon Museum Collection. Access is free to the Ronald Searle tribute exhibition, which runs throughout the period of the art fair.
