Despite the gloomy economic climate, dealers in photography have been quick to make bookings for the first London Photograph Fair of 2012. Most of the space has been reserved already and Fair organisers are confident of a ‘full house’ by the time the event comes around on February 26th.

Organiser James Kerr said: “We are gratified to see such a good turnout for our first Fair of the year. I think it reflects the fact that we are now seen as an event which serious collectors do not want to miss, and this has encouraged more dealers to exhibit with us. I think the continued strength of the fair reflects not just the enthusiasm of committed collectors, but that in difficult economic times, photography represents a solid long term investment, and one that can provide enjoyment at the same time.”

Among the exhibitors booking for February are first time visitors from France, Guillaume Ingert, Marie Lagaron and Thomas Guillosson, alongside Dr. Uwe Emig of Masterbook in Germany. In line with the new format for the Fair, the forthcoming event will be tabletop only, with the May 20th Fair partially boothed.

The organisers have also fixed the date for the final event of the year - this will take place on November 11th, allowing international visitors to take in the London Fair en route to Paris for Paris Photo. The London Photograph Fair is the UK’s premier event for photography collectors. It takes place four times a year at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, which is just 10 minutes walk from both Euston and King’s Cross/St. Pancras mainline train stations.

Full details of the fair are available on www.photofair.co.uk with the contact details for regular participants also provided. A preview of selected images that will be offered at the Fair will be available on the website in the run-up to the event. Once again free entry is available after 2pm on production of a voucher. This can be obtained by emailing info@photofair.co.uk. Anyone joining the mailing list will be entered in a draw for a £100 voucher, redeemable at the Fair.
